How it works
Three steps to a fair draw

List the names
Type everyone taking part. Add a gift hint, or a rule such as keeping couples apart.

Draw
Choose how many gifts each person buys, then tap Draw names. Every rule is kept.

Send the links
Copy each person's private link and send it to them. Their link shows only who they're buying for.
Your privacy
What happens to the names
Names and hints are sent to our server once, to make the draw and lock each link. We don't save them, and we don't keep a copy of the pairs.
Each link is locked with a key only our server holds, so nobody can read who someone got from the link itself. Anyone who opens a link sees what it shows, so send each one only to its person.
If you download the list as an Excel file, the pairs are sent to our server once to build it, and are not kept.
Your list is saved in this browser so you can come back to it. Start over clears it, and so does clearing this site's data in your browser.
To stop the tool being misused, we count draws per visitor for 60 seconds using a scrambled form of the IP address. After that, the count is deleted.
This page sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

Secret Santa questions
Is it free?
Yes. There's no sign-up and no payment. If you draw more than 20 times in a minute, you'll be asked to wait a moment.
Do you keep my list?
No. Names and hints are used once to make the draw and lock the links, then discarded. Your browser keeps a copy so you can come back, until you tap Start over.
Can I stop couples drawing each other?
Yes. Open a person's rules with the gear button and add their partner under Must not give to. Do the same for the partner if neither should draw the other.
Can each person buy for more than one?
Yes. Set Gifts per person to between 2 and 5. Everyone buys for that many different people and gets that many gifts, and we avoid two people buying for each other wherever the rules allow.
Can I see who got whom?
Only if you want to. After the draw, Download the list shows every pair. If you're taking part, skip it and keep the surprise.
